An Inner Pilgrimage of the Embodied Feminine
With Sandra Palermo
Vision
A loving prayer in service to the Divine Mother. Jai Ma
A pilgrimage is a sacred journey of the soul, a journey inward to the deepest parts of our own being. Our destination is not a faraway land. It is the very depths of our womb, our yoni, and the sacred path of the Heart.
The Heart is more than a physical organ. It is a wellspring of wisdom and a source of our truest knowing. The womb, revered as a sacred portal, calls us to explore even deeper into the mysteries of creation. It is within this sacred space that life itself takes shape, a cosmic dance of rhythms and cycles that weave the very fabric of existence.
As women in form, we carry the weight of generations: suppression, oppression, shaming, violence held in our blood. Beneath these layers live the patterns that shape our inner world: the emotions we cannot name, the sensations we override, the thoughts that run us before we know they are running. These are the imprints of conditioning, personal, ancestral, collective, woven into our bodies, our nervous systems, our wombs.
The Womb of the Heart is a sacred framework for objectifying these patterns, for learning to see our emotions, sensations, thoughts, and energies as objects of awareness rather than as who we are. Through the 8 Sacred Gateways of the Feminine Cross, we create a living mirror in which we can witness what has been hidden, name what has been unnamed, and gently release what no longer serves.
But the work does not stop at witnessing. As we learn to objectify these forces, we also learn to wield them. Emotions, sensations, thoughts, and energies are not obstacles; they are raw material. Through conscious engagement, they can be sublimated and transformed into self-awareness. What was once unconscious reactivity becomes conscious power.
And through the embodiment of the archetypes, the Maiden, the Mother/Lover, the Crone, we do not merely study them. We rediscover in ourselves the innocence that was always there beneath the wounding, the love that was always flowing beneath the armouring, the wisdom that was always present beneath the noise, and the capacity to observe, to witness, to hold it all without losing ourselves.
In this way, the work is simultaneously three things:
- A practice of embodiment — bringing awareness back into the body, the womb, the breath, the pelvic floor, the cycles of the feminine
- A therapeutic tool — working with the samskaras (patterns) and vasanas (deep impressions) that shape our conditioning, bringing them into the light where they can be witnessed, felt, and transformed
- A path of self-awareness — purifying the subconscious mind layer by layer, sublimating the raw energy of our experience into presence, preparing the ground for the deepening in the Heart, for the rediscovery of who we truly are beneath all conditioning
Through this, we come to a powerful realisation: I am the creator of my reality. And in this recognition, we ask ourselves: Who am I?
"The Sacred Feminine expressed is love, and this love is both active and passive, dynamic and receptive, stillness and movement, and spiritual and material."
— Miranda Gray, Female Energy Awakening
How It Works: The Feminine Cross
The map we walk is the Feminine Cross, a symbol older than any religion, found in the Egyptian ankh, the Celtic cross, the Rose Cross, the medicine wheel, and the Tibetan dorje. It is the map of the feminine body, the map of the soul, and the map of creation itself.
Each of its 8 Sacred Gateways holds specific gifts, specific wounds, and specific patterns of conditioning. As we enter each gateway, we learn to witness what arises, in the body, in the emotions, in the mind, without becoming identified with it. The gateway becomes a mirror. The mirror becomes the healing.
The Triangle — The Three Faces of the Goddess
- The Maiden — innocence, trust, new beginnings. The ascending light of the new moon. Where has my original trust been wounded? What am I afraid to begin?
- The Mother/Lover — passion, nourishment, sensuality. The sustaining light of the full moon. What am I sustaining that no longer nourishes me? Where have I shamed my own desire?
- The Crone — wisdom, transformation, the power of NO. The dissolving light of the dark moon. What identity am I clinging to that has already died? What do I fear to let go of?
The Cross — The Four Elements of the Womb
- Earth (South) — grounding, ancestry, sacred menstruation. What am I carrying that belongs to my ancestors, not to me?
- Fire (West) — creativity, sacred sexuality, the inner flame. Where have I dimmed my fire to make others comfortable?
- Air (North) — clarity, individuation, witness consciousness. Who am I when no one is watching?
- Water (East) — intuition, dreaming, surrender, devotion. What am I refusing to feel?
The Centre — Sacred Union
- The 8th Gateway — the still point where Shakti and Shiva meet. The pure I AM. The Heart of the Womb. Who is the one asking?
The Three Dimensions of the Work
Embodiment
The work begins in the body. We bring awareness into the pelvis, the womb, the breath, the pelvic floor. We learn to feel what is actually here, not what we think should be here. Through movement, breath, and sensation, the body becomes the primary instrument of knowing. This is not abstract spirituality. It is the body experiencing itself, layer by layer.
Therapeutic Witnessing
Each gateway holds both gifts and wounds. The wounds are not problems to fix; they are patterns to see. In the yogic tradition, these patterns are called samskaras (the grooves worn into consciousness by repetition) and vasanas (the deep tendencies that linger like a scent in cloth). They take the form of beliefs (I am not enough), programs (people-pleasing, controlling, dissociating), and inherited patterns passed down through the lineage.
The practice is not to remove these patterns. It is to see them. When a belief is seen as a belief rather than as truth, it loosens its grip. When a program is witnessed as a program rather than as "who I am," it begins to dissolve. Awareness itself is the transforming agent.
Self-Awareness and the Purification of the Subconscious
As the layers of conditioning are witnessed and released, the subconscious mind begins to clear. What was running us from beneath awareness comes into the light. This is the yogic understanding of chitta shuddhi, the purification of the mind-field, and it prepares the ground for something deeper: the recognition of who we are beneath all content.
This is where self-inquiry begins: Who am I? Not as a philosophical question, but as a living practice. Who is the one feeling these emotions? Who is the one thinking these thoughts? Who remains when the patterns fall away?
The answer is not a concept. It is a recognition. And this recognition is the Heart, the Hridaya, the destination and the source of the entire pilgrimage.

What to Expect
To bridge your daily life with spirituality, receiving ancient wisdom in the present moment within the sacred temple of the Self, from a feminine perspective.
This immersion draws from Kashmir Shaivism, Tantra, Esoteric Christianity, Sufi mysticism, Hermeticism, Indigenous earth wisdom, and Jungian psychology, all within the context of cycles.
We will work with sacred sexuality, exploring the significance of sexual energies. We will dive into the mysteries of menstruation, understanding conscious menstruation, even if you are not currently bleeding. We will activate the sacred mirror and explore how to work with it.
The Womb of the Heart offers a transformative journey to reconnect with your divine essence, embrace the wisdom of the feminine, and integrate spiritual practices into daily life.

Gateway Exploration — We explore one of the gateways, focusing on "seeing without seeing, hearing without hearing." Each gateway reveals a different aspect of your inner world, both light and shadow.
Pattern Illumination — Through gentle reflection and introspection, we bring the deep impressions and automatic patterns to the surface. We hold them in the light of awareness with compassion, creating space where healing and transformation can unfold naturally.
Deep Healing — Through the exploration of your subconscious and energetic field, old patterns that no longer serve you are released, clearing the way for new growth and a reconnection with your sacred essence.
